Pedales de Lava is a mountain bike route which runs throughout the island of Lanzarote. It also passes through the small and nearby island of the Graciosa.
It covers a distance of 247 kilometres and its riders accumulate a total of 3,500 meters of elevation. It is designed to be done in between 4 and 7 days. Our recommendation is to do it in 5 days.
The route is self-guided with the help of a route or road book which we offer. If you prefer, you can rent a GPS with the route incorporated into it. There is also the option of hiring a guide.
In addition, the local government (Cabildo) of Lanzarote has begun a route signing project. Pedales de Lava has collaborated with them not only in the design but also in the signing.
Thanks to the climate of the Canarian islands, this is perfect route for any time of the year. It is especially recommended in the autumn and in the winter when the days are clearer and the weather is more stable.

From getting you the most economic flights, choosing your lodging and transporting your luggage from hotel to hotel we can do it all. Even if you don’t want to bring your own bike we can rent a high quality one for you. In summary, we can cover your every need.
Although the route is self guided, you have to pass through a series of control points where you will have your road book stamped.
When you finish the route and after confirming that your road book has been properly stamped at each point, we will give you the Pedales de Lava exclusive cycling jersey. This jersey is only given to those who finish the route. It can not be purchased.
